The Golden State Warriors will pay tribute to their Filipino and Filipino-American fans by hosting the “Filipino Heritage Night” on November 14 at the Cache Creek Casino Resort.
The reigning NBA world champions will be squaring off against the Brooklyn Nets.
With this, Golden State will don a specially designed T-shirt by Adidas – the first NBA team to wear a special edition Filipino Heritage shooting shirts to show their appreciation to their supporters from the Philippines.
Fans will be able to purchase the shooting shirts at any Warriors Team Store location inside Oracle Arena or at www.warriorsteamstore.com. Added to this, fans will have the opportunity to purchase a limited edition Filipino Heritage Night knit hat.
A portion of the proceeds from each Filipino Heritage Night sold will be donated to local Filipino organizations throught the Bay Area.
Already in its eighth straight year, only a limited number of tickets are still available for the annual event. Fans who purchase a special event night ticket will be seated in the Filipino Heritage Night section in the arena and receive a commemorative Warriors “Kampeon” (champion) T-shirt courtesy of Cache Creek Casino Resort.
A unique cultural entertainment showcase will be featured throughout the night at the Oracle Arena, including a halftime performance by the American Center of Philippine Arts.
Apart from the activities at the arena, Golden State will also host a Filipino Heritage Night pregame tailgate featuring food trucks showcasing different food from the Philippines. Fans will have a chance to have their photos taken with the Larry O’Brien NBA Championship Trophy at the said event at the Parking Lot A of the Oracle Arena.
Per the 2010 United States Census, 382,950 Filipino-Americans are residing in the San Francisco Bay Area, making it one of the largest Filipino communities across the waters.
