ONE Championship™ (ONE), created another huge buzz in their return to Singapore, Friday, November 13 in “ONE: Pride of Lions” held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
ONE Strawweight World Champion Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke successfully defended his title via unanimous decision over his challenger, Yago Bryan of Brazil. It was 5 rounds worth of action as both fighters traded with powerful blows. Dejdamrong, with his Muay Thai background, preferred to attack with kicks, while Bryan countered with punches. Dejdamrong suffered a minor cut in his right eye during the first round, but the slight setback didn’t prevent the champion in continuing the fight. With the current rule set of One Championship, the judges awarded the fight Amnuaysirichoke who was clearly the more aggressive fighter.
In other matches, Japan’s Kotetsu Boku’s gave Major Overall of the United States a lesson in striking as he puts him down with a straight right hand which forced the referee, Yuji Shimada to stop the fight at the 2:19 mark in the 2nd round.
A female MMA match was also featured another Evolve MMA fighter, the “Unstoppable” Angela Lee notched who came out with a very impressive win over “The Kilapino” Natalie Gonzales Hills of the Philippines with very rare twister submission in the 1st round.
The battle of the heavyweights between Alain Ngalani of Cameroon and Igor Subora of the Ukraine, also provided quite a show as Ngalani came in aggressively in the first round and kicked Subora so hard in the body that made himfall to the ground in which Ngalani unleashed a barrage of strikes to finish the match.
Rounding up the rest of the fight card was Evolve MMA’s Amir Khan continue to rise in the One Championship ranks by taking out Jimmy Yabo of the Philippines with punches in the 1st round, Martin Nguyen defeating Edward Kelly after cutting him hard with his elbows in his forehead which forced the doctors to stop the fight, Benedict Ang winning against Yohan Legowo after a corner stoppage and Li Kai Wen winning against Nathan Ng with his punches.
