The reputation of Phoenix Suns forward Markieff Morris took a deep dive after he shoved young guard Archie Goodwin during a timeout against the Golden State Warriors. A screenshot of the incident has also surfaced which shows Morris choking Goodwin.
The reason for the incident is still unclear. However, reports suggest that there might have been some sort of on-court disagreement. Corey Gaines, assistant coach of the Phoenix Suns separated both the athletes and was seen talking to Goodwin, as reported by SB Nation.
Despite the incident, both the players stayed on in the game. The incident seems like a deja-vu of Morris’ brother screaming at Suns’ former coach Jeff Hornacek during another timeout last year.
The incident grows into the list of controversies surrounding Markeiff Morris this season. The forward was upset when Phoenix Suns decided to trade his brother in the offseason. Markeiff Morris demanded a trade right after but his request was denied by the Suns.
“One thing for sure, I am not going to be there. If you want to put that out there, you can put that out. I don’t give a [fudge]. I am not going to be there at all. That’s just what it is.” Markieff Morris said to the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Since his wish to be traded, Markieff Morris has been inconsistent for the Suns. He has been in and out of the rotation all season. However, Morris has played hard for the current Phoenix Sun coach Earl Watson.
