Tim Tebow does not look to feature in an NFL game in the near future. To be more precise, he did not play a single game for the last three years. However, he is considered a better quarterback than Russell Wilson by most American Football fans in the United States.
Tebow, who played for the Denver Broncos and New York Jets in his short NFL stint in recent years, was declared as the fifth most popular quarterback, according to a poll. He features ahead of other quarterbacks like the New York Giants’ Eli Manning, Pittsburgh Steelers’ Ben Roethlisberger and most surprisingly, Seattle Seahawks’ Russell Wilson, as reported by Public Policy Polling.
Peyton Manning, the current Broncos QB who replaced Tebow at Denver, is second in the list. Tom Brady of the New England Patriots heads the list.
Here is the declared list of “Favorite NFL quarterback”
1) Tom Brady – 23%
2) Peyton Manning – 16%
3) Aaron Rodgers – 13%
4) Cam Newton – 11%
5) Tim Tebow – 7%
6) Eli Manning – 6%
7) Ben Roethlisberger – 6%
8) Russell Wilson – 6%
9) Drew Brees – 4%
Tebow’s fifth position in the list ahead of Super Bowl winning quarterbacks like Eli Manning, Roethlisberger and Wilson certainly confirms the belief that some fans still believe in Tebow’s talent on the field.
There is an ongoing debate amongst the NFL enthusiasts whether Tebow has the quality to be an NFL quarterback. However, while his college stats were quite impressive, his game never translated well in the pros.
Tebow enjoyed having one of the most impressive college careers of all time at Florida. He was awarded with the Heisman Trophy in 2007.
To note, Tebow is also among the top choices for the “Least Favorite Quarterback” category ranking second with 19% behind Tom Brady who scored 29%.
Tebow has also been in the news recently because of his off the field activities. The former Broncos QB is creating waves because of his fantastic on-screen chemistry with Nina Dobrev.
He was also seen recently organizing a prom for children with special needs. His very own Tim Tebow Foundation, “Night to Shine” sponsored the event.
