Transfer News: Arsenal set for struggle to keep hold of their star midfielder as Barcelona show interest

La Liga giant Barcelona are set to venture inside the pastures of English Premier League (EPL) club Arsenal to prize away Aaron Ramsey in the summer transfer window.

The 25-year-old star is one of the prized assets in the Emirates Stadium. With Barcelona’s interest high, it will remain interesting to see whether the Welshman joins his national teammate Gareth Bale in La Liga next season, according to Express.

It will not be the first time when the Catalan club will make their approach for Ramsey. Barcelona showed their interest and wanted to acquire the Welshman last summer. However, Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger stepped in and prevented the transfer from happening.

Ramsey will be interested to play at Camp Nou for one of the biggest teams in world football. However, nothing will materialize before the European Championship set to be held in France next summer. Ramsey will feature for Wales in the competition.

Wales will be participating in the competition for the first time since 1958 and a fantastic clash with England awaits them in the tournament.

Ramsey will cost between £50 million (US $71.3 million) and £60 million (US $85.66 million) but Barcelona are completely committed to the midfielder and will be eager to add the Welshman to their already star-studded squad.

Barcelona are also reportedly interested in the Everton central defender John Stones along with the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea. However, Ramsey’s transfer to the Catalan club looks more likely than Stones.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are interested to sign former United striker Javier Hernandez.

Since his transfer from United, Hernandez has been in fabulous form for Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga. With the Arsenal interest, it looks like the Mexican could be back on his way to England.

Arsenal is not the only Premier League club looking to rope in Hernandez. Liverpool are also interested to cash-in on the former Old Trafford front man. Arsenal and Liverpool are looking for a top striker and Hernandez provides the perfect option for both.

Hernandez has scored 11 times in 14 appearances for Leverkusen in the Bundesliga this season.
