Star Wars Rogue One Release: Luke Skywalker deserves more exposure with Darth Vader in film? Setting before 1977’s ‘A New Hope’ expected

With only a few months before Star Wars Rogue One release, a lot of avid fans gave comments regarding Luke Skywalker’s absence in film while seeing more of Darth Vader.

Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader were both present during the early times of the Star Wars Trilogy. Both  characters have series of fighting encounters since the 1970s.

Now, the Star Wars Rogue One plot revolved around Luke Skywalker’s dad which clearly hinted at the early times of the Galactic Empire. The timeline was specified before 1977’s “A New Hope.”

In addition to that, the Imperial Forces at that time rebelled under the cruel orders of Darth Vader, who was at his prime as the Emperor’s galactic enforcer.

Fansided noted that Star Wars won’t exist without Mark Hamill’s character as Luke Skywalker. Since the genesis of the trilogy, the story started when Luke Skywalker lived a simple life in a Tatooine.

Hence, having him seen at least in some cameos in Star Wars Rogue One would create a great connection to its history. The audiences will see how they evolved as characters through time.

But Bustle suggested that it’s better to have more exposure for the villain this time. Darth Vader has not been seen on the big screen for some time. He has not been shown for almost 20 years since Obi-Wan’s meeting.

Yet, his character has always been involved amid his absence. The story remained connected with Darth Vader. So, having him noticed in longer cameos would make for an interesting twist.

Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy explained that the character’s appearance remained short but it’ll become large in a strategic moment.

“He will be in the movie sparingly. But at a key, strategic moment, he’s going to loom large,” she said during an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

Generally, the audience will observe Darth Vader’s presence after two decades. However, his identity will remain hidden behind his voice. Bustle cited that James Earl Jones will voice Darth Vader for the upcoming film.

Star Wars Rogue One film release will be this coming December 16, 2016.
