Warriors’ Stephen Curry won MVP in NBPA’s Players Choice awards

This is just another achievement for the incumbent MVP in the league. Stephen Curry not only won the season MVP in 2016, he also bagged the MVP based on the NBA players themselves.

The awarding happened when the NBPA posted videos of the results on their twitter page according to Ananth Pandian of CBS Sports.

This is the video from NBPA showing why the back to back MVP in the league deserves the MVP for the NBA players.

Aside from winning the NBPA’s MVP choice award, he also won the Toughest to guard distinction by the NBA players.

This is the video from NBPA showing that.

Being the Toughest to guard award is something that Steph Curry has in his arsenal right now. This is because guarding long-range bombs outside the three-point area is much harder than inside the paint. Curry is also known to be making three-point shots from half-court.

Moreover, the last award that Steph got is the Clutch Performer award.

This is the NBPA’s video for that.

All the awards that Stephen Curry got from the NBPA are attributable to his work ethic on and off the court. He really deserves these awards since he also led his Golden State Warriors team to back to back NBA Finals.

The team won the 2015 NBA season against the Cleveland Cavaliers. But disappointingly lost the series in 2016 season in seven games opposite the Cavaliers once again. The result is really embarrassing since the team has set the most wins in an NBA regular season history this year. It is also worth noting that the Warriors held a commanding 3-1 series lead over the Cavs but just gave it away to the opponent.

Nonetheless, the Warriors had a great off-season this year. This is because they got Kevin Durant from the Oklahoma City Thunder. Fortunately, they still have Draymond Green, Klay Thompson and Steph Curry on their loaded roster.

Curry is still expected to lead Golden State next season. But he may not have the many touches he had last season due to Durant’s signing with the team.
