Miocic told MMAJunkie that he is not ready to hand his title to Overeem, who is very confident of coming out the Octagon as the winner. The champ stated that he has worked hard for the fight and he stressed out that Overeem will experience how he won the title come fight night.

“I’m going to go out there and do my job. I’ve trained too hard to go out there and give it up. I don’t want to give anything up. I’ve worked too hard to get this title. I’m going to win,” Miocic said. “You’ll find out how I did it when I get my hand raised.”

However, Overeem is not concern about the odds as his main concern is to beat Miocic and take his fourth title in his illustrious MMA career. Overeem has been the heavyweight champion in three MMA organizations namely Strikeforce, Dream and K-1World Grand Prix. The 36-year old English fighter is coming off a four-fight winning streak and a win on Sept. 10 will cement his legacy in the MMA scene.

MMAJunkie caught up with Overeem during his open workout and stated that he has one goal only and that is to take away the title from Miocic. He explained that winning over Miocic is not easy but stresses that the results of the match will not favor the other camp as well.

“I expect him to come with a full arsenal,” Overeem said. “He has his striking, he has his wrestling base and, yeah, (he’s) a very dominant fighter and has power. But everyone has power. So I need be ready for his strikes, for his counter strikes, be ready for his wrestling. My game plan is great, so I’m very confident.”
