According to Cult of Mac, the iPad mini 5 will be thinner and will come with iOS 10 and 3D Touch. As for the camera, it will have the same as its predecessor with an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 1.2-megapixel front camera. Despite not making any upgrades for the camera, the mini 5 will sport a more powerful A9 processor instead of the A8 found in a mini 4.

There are also rumors that the iPad mini 5 will have a similar chassis with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus which is a 7000 series aluminum making the tablet thinner and more durable. Just like the latest Apple devices, the mini 5 is expected to be dust-resistant and waterproof.

With all the rumors regarding its specs, many fans are hoping that Apple would equip the iPad mini 5 with a technology similar to Qualcomm’s fast charging technology, something like the mini battery used in the Apple Pencil. Aside from that, fans are also hoping that the iPad mini 5 will have a MicroSD card slot for removable storage. This is much better than a headphone jack.
