Serbian Tennis player Novak Djokovic will advance to the quarterfinals of the Toronto Masters of Rogers Cup after defeating tennis showman and Czech Tennis player Radek Stepanek, Thursday night in Toronto, Canada.
Djokovic outlasted Stepanek in an easy fashion, winning in straight sets with a score of 6-2, 6-4 to advance to the next round of the tournament. The 37-year-old veteran tennis player Stepanek has kept the crowd entertained with his extravagant plays.
“It’s quite enjoyable to play Radek, he’s such an entertainer,” Djokovic said. “It’s not easy to play someone you know so well and respect a lot,” Djokovic said.
Several times, the Czech took victory laps around the court after winning shots of every set, often to the delight of Djokovic, who now stands an awesome 12-1 in the series.
Djokovic took the 79 percent of first-serve points in the one hour, 28-minute game breaking twice to take the opening set before a scrambling veteran player Stepanek made the shot of the match bring up a break point in the opening game of the second.
