The cast of Thor: Ragnarok already arrived at The Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia where the filming started on Monday. Here are the latest updates and all the things you need to know about Thor: Ragnarok.
According to the Gold Coast Bulletin, the cast has already settled in at the filming location. Chris Hemsworth, who plays Thor, was seen at the Village Roadshow Studios in Oxenford while Mark Ruffalo, who plays the Hulk, posted a photo of himself at Hendrixx Espresso in Palm Beach.
On the other hand, Tom Hiddleston, who plays Loki, is expected to be joined by girlfriend Taylor Swift after she celebrates her July 4th in her Rhode Island home. The Village Roadshow Studios is the same facility where Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales was filmed.
The plot of Thor: Ragnarok will reportedly be based on a popular story from Marvel Comics that is about the end of the Norse world. Thor will be joined by the Hulk and their relationship will be explored in the movie, per Comic Book Resource.
The involvement of the Hulk has led fans to speculate that the third Thor film will be influenced by the Marvel Comics storyline called Planet Hulk. It is rumored that Thor will find the Hulk fighting in a gladiator-like game for the Grandmaster.
Earth will not be a major part of the movie with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige saying that about “80 to 90 percent of the film will happen in the cosmos.” Thor: Ragnarok is directed by Taika Waititi and it also stars Cate Blanchett as Hela, Jaimie Alexander as Sif, Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Karl Urban as Skurge and Idris Elba as Heimdall.
Natalie Portman will not be returning as Jane Foster but Anthony Hopkins is reportedly going to reprise his role as Odin but it is not yet confirmed if his scenes will be shot in Australia. Thor: Ragnarok is scheduled to be released in North America on November 3, 2017.
