Travis Browne and Ronda Rousey had a tough time last year. Travis Browne was going through allegations of domestic abuse while Ronda Rousey was recovering from her UFC 193 loss.
But the best part is the couple were there for each other. Travis was accused by his ex-wife Jenna Webb last year for domestic abuse but the 33-year-old fighter kept mum until now. An emotional Travis Browne almost broke down while talking about the allegations for the first time at a UFC 200 media lunch.
According to Browne, his ex-wife’s allegations are false.
“Honestly, I feel a little betrayed,” Browne said, reports MMA Fighting. “If those are your reasons for lying, but then you don’t press charges, you don’t try to do things the right way. If any of you guys were here beating your wife and you have two kids, I swear to God, I will f*ck you up. And I would take your kids and take them from you.”
In a series of posts, Jenna posted photos of her injuries on Instagram but never pressed charges against Travis or have his children taken away from him.
“I have two little boys at home and if I did the things I was accused of, you want those two boys being raised by me? Why wouldn’t you want them in my home? Why would you want me to have my career if that’s the kind of man I am?” he added.
It was only after UFC’s independent inquiry found him innocent, that Browne was reinstated by the organisation.
Amidst all these trials and tribulations, there was one person however who stood by him and supported him throughout-Ronda Rousey. The two started dating last year and Browne believes that he found Ronda at the right time.
“We were there for each other when we needed it the most. When we felt like everybody was against us, when everybody was trying to knock us down, we were there for each other,” he said.
Travis Browne will next fight Cain Velasquez at UFC 200 on July 9 in Las Vegas.
