Tyler Wilson rips his team for quitting in loss to Alabama
Arkansas Razorbacks quarterback Tyler Wilson sat out of Saturday’s embarrassing 52-0 loss to No. 1 Alabama. The senior still had things to say to the media and his teammates following the game.
“Obviously that wasn’t pretty to watch,” Wilson said following the game, according to Yahoo! Sports. “Sucks I couldn’t be out there to do something about it. Do I feel that we, at times, gave up out there? Yeah, absolutely. And as a leader, it sucks to see people not do their jobs and things go wrong. There have been a lot of things that have gone that way.”
The Razorbacks were outgained by 301 yards and committed five turnovers. In replacing Wilson, quarterbacks Brandon Allen and Brandon Mitchell combined for just 79 yards passing and 2 interceptions.
Wilson did everything he could to play in the game. USA Today reported that he participated in a light practice on Wednesday, but wasn’t cleared by doctors to play. Wilson sustained a head injury last week in an upset loss to Louisiana-Monroe.
The Razorbacks, who began the year with national championship hopes, are now 1-2.
Wilson hopes to return next week against Rutgers and help his team end a two-game losing streak. He also hopes his teammates show up to play.
