UFC Rumors: Conor McGregor not closing door for Jose Aldo and Eddie Alvarez but itching to fight Nate Diaz for the third time

UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor succeeded to take his revenge against Nate Diaz at UFC 200. After the fight, there are rumors circulating regarding the next opponent of the Irish fighter. Will it be a Diaz trilogy? Or is it time for ‘The Notorious’ to fight Jose Aldo and defend his title?

Before the UFC 200, Conor McGregor said in an interview that he will be returning to the featherweight division to reclaim his belt. The Irish fighter needs to defend the title against interim featherweight champion Jose Aldo or else he will lose the belt.

“I’ll reclaim [my belt]. Let all those featherweights know, who are praying that I don’t come back,” McGregor said.

After his fight, ‘McGregor vs Diaz 3′ began to spread. The Irish fighter challenged Diaz to fight him for the third time in the 155-pound. Despite Diaz’ desire for another bout, UFC president Dana White is not supporting the fight to go down for the third straight time.

According to TMZ, White wants McGregor to defend his title in the featherweight division against Jose Aldo or else he will lose the belt. Another option given to him is to cut weight to 155 and fight Eddie Alvarez for the lightweight title.

However, it seems like Conor McGregor will need to rest for months before returning to the Octagon. According to MMAJunkie, McGregor is included in the list of fighters released by Nevada State Athletic Commission who are medically suspended  after UFC 202.

Conor McGregor – Needs left foot/ankle cleared by orthopedic doctor or no contest until Dec. 17; minimum suspension until Oct. 20 with no contact in training until Oct. 5.

Jose Aldo expressed his intention to fight McGregor at UFC 205 which is expected to take place on November 12. However, there are speculations that McGregor will not be having any fight until 2017. If this happens, the Irish fighter will be forced to vacate the title and give it to Aldo.
