Recently retired superstar Daniel Bryan is still a part of the WWE family as an ambassador and a big part of Total Divas. According to the latest WWE rumors, Bryan was backstage in the recent NXT television tapings and it could lead to a role for him in the developmental system.
The 35-year-old retired from wrestling on February 8 due to medical issues stemming from multiple concussions and a brain lesion that causes seizures. It was a very difficult time for Bryan but it was his only choice.

Bob Krites of Daily Wrestling News noted that the former WWE World Heavyweight champion was backstage at the recent NXT TV tapings in Full Sail University. He was just visiting the future WWE superstars and he was watching the event from the gorilla position.
Bryan’s appearance at the NXT tapings is his first wrestling event since his retirement. During his farewell speech, he said that it will be too painful to return to wrestling in a different position just after retiring from the sport he loves.
In an interview with Pass the Popcorn last year, Bryan revealed that the WWE offered him non-wrestling roles when he was waiting for the doctor’s decision on his medical status.
“They asked me a bunch of stuff of what I’d like to do like announce or be a trainer at NXT. I’m sure at some point in my life I would, but right now it would be too soon,” Bryan said.
The leader of the YES! Movement has been retired for four months and him showing up at an NXT event is a good sign. Bryan loves the wrestling business and he would like to be part of it again in some capacity.
The WWE can swerve fans by making him an on-screen character but being an NXT trainer is more likely. He was trained by William Regal and Shawn Michaels, and he probably wants to give back to the future stars of the WWE.

Nonetheless, these are all just speculations at the moment. It will certainly be a big boost for WWE should Bryan have a bigger role in the company. He will be very helpful to the development of NXT wrestlers.
