Vonta Leach looking to go back to Houston
Recently released by the Baltimore Ravens, Vonta Leach and his agent have expressed interest in Leach returning to the Houston Texans. The Texans apparently have reciprocated the feelings.
Leach is a three-time All-Pro fullback who played for the Texans from 2006-2010. His release from the Ravens is assumed to have been a salary cap move.
“We just talked and [Texans GM Rick Smith] mentioned that he definitely had an interest in Vonta,” Leach’s agent, Ralph Vitolo, told FOX 26 Sports in Houston. “He said that it would be beneficial for all of us if we could get him back down there. It’s just a matter of how we can do it money-wise and when we can do it and if we can do it?”
According to NBC ProFootballTalk, Leach has already met with the Miami Dolphins and his agent has said that other teams have expressed interest in the fullback as well. However, Houston appears to be the front-runner.
Leach, who is coming off a Super Bowl Championship with the Baltimore Ravens, would be adding to an already high-powered offense and would be pairing up with Arian Foster to create one of the most formidable backfields in the NFL.
