Ever since the announcement of Alberto Del Rio’s departure from the WWE, all eyes are now on his real-life girlfriend Saraya-Jade Bevis. More popularly known as Paige, the WWE wrestler is currently rumored to be leaving the wrestling company.
Earlier reports suggested that the WWE had already demanded that Paige break up with Del Rio. Management had even separated the two by putting them in different shows, but that did not stop the couple from continuing their relationship.
“Mark Carrano, who fans might know from Total Divas, kind of like the office liaison guy, approached Del Rio and Paige individually and harassed each of them about their relationship,” shared wrestler and commentator Mister Saint Laurent during his MSL & Sullivan podcast. “It was indicated that the office wanted them to sever their romantic relationship.”
Saint Laurent also confirmed that their budding romance was the reason they were put in separate shows. He further elaborated that if Paige does not end their relationship, the wrestling company would be forced to let her go.
“A lot of people speculated if this was the reason [WWE] split them up in the draft and that’s definitely what happened,” he said. “The company did not want them together. They split them up in the draft by design and they threatened to fire Paige if she didn’t break up with Del Rio.”
Tough Road ahead for Paige and WWE
Meanwhile, Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio has also put in his two cents about the issue. He emphasized that the future does not look very bright for Paige’s relationship with the WWE. Referencing to the news about the wrestling company’s demand for Paige and Del Rio to end their relationship, Meltzer stated “that story is out tells me that she is probably done with the company, and if she is done with the company, well, I mean, that’s gonna be tough.”
Tough-simply because Paige is still under contract with the WWE until 2019. This means the entertainment company will have to be careful with how (or if) they will take any legal action to keep Paige and break her up with Del Rio.
Del Rio on the other hand, will be leaving the WWE as soon as his contract expires this Fall.
