The World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) is in dire need of its biggest stars to return while it’s battling to boost ratings. The return of Randy Orton will certainly help the company which has struggled with its top stars being injured for a while now. However, it looks like “The Viper” won’t be returning anytime soon with his recovery not going as smoothly as expected.
With John Cena and Seth Rollins expected to return sooner, Orton may be out of action for the next couple of months at least. The 36-year-old suffered a shoulder injury last November and has been off WWE television since then.
It is rumored that Orton himself is taking the safety-first approach and is delaying his return to completely heal his shoulder, which has taken a lot of toll during the course of his career. This is not the first time that Orton’s shoulder is injured and if not properly healed, could go on to give massive problems to the wrestler in the future, according to Ecumenical News.
Speculations suggest that the man from Knoxville, Tennessee will return to training mid-June. This asserts the fact that he will likely miss a couple of more pay-per-views (PPV) before returning back to full fitness.
Meanwhile, specific sources say that WWE is already planning some possible feuds for Randy Orton once he returns to fulltime wrestling. Sami Zayn and Finn Balor are the possible opponents the 4-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion may face.
Zayn is currently involved with Kevin Owens and is taking their NXT rivalry forward. His only chance of facing “The Legend Killer” is after he is done with his present feud.
In terms of Balor, the wrestler is being linked to the Bulletproof Balor Club. So, before his feud with Orton, it is more likely that the NXT man will feature in the faction-related storyline the company has planned for him.
