WWE Rumors: Roman Reigns suspended for drug test violation, will not be part of Battleground and draft night?

Former heavyweight champion Roman Reigns has been suspended by the WWE for a wellness or drug testing violation. Rumors are swirling he will not take part of the coming WWE Battleground which would put him in a triple threat match.

In a statement, the WWE posted that Joe Anoa’i (Roman Reigns) has been suspended for 30 days effective immediately for his first violation of the company’s talent wellness policy. Reigns for his part immediately posted on his Twitter account apologizing to his family, friends and fans for the mistake he has made. No details as to what specific violation was made known by the WWE, but many speculated that his suspension now justifies why he was stripped of his title when Seth Rollins wrestled and defeated him in the main event of the Money In the Bank show held last June 19 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Reigns wrestled anew against Rollins, who lost the title when Dean Ambrose cashed in his briefcase and eventually winning the crown on the same night, for a chance to challenge Ambrose on Monday Night RAW but both superstars were counted out. Stephanie McMahon went out to book all three former members of The Shield to a triple threat match on June 24’s Battleground on pay-per-view. But with the recent development rumors are swelling that Reigns will no longer take part in the event and it will be a singles event which will be a rematch between Ambrose against Rollins.

Reigns suspension will greatly affect his career with the imminent brand split and draft on July 11, Reigns will not be able to take part of which locker room will he be part of either RAW or SmackDown, which will start airing live on July 19. This, not the first time that the WWE has suspended it wrestlers for violation of the company’s wellness policy, in April the WWE, suspended Raymond Leppan (Adam Rose) and Ryan Parmeter (Konnor) for 60 days each for their second violations of the policy. Leppan subsequently requested and was granted his release.
