Who will be booked stronger going into Backlash?

Wrestling fans have a theory about what is going to happen at a PPV based on who gets booked stronger on the go-home edition. If Dean Ambrose gets the upper hand on A.J. Styles in the WWE SmackDown September 6 episode, expect The Phenomenal One to win the WWE World Championship at Backlash.

However, this theory is not 100 percent right but most of the time it happens. Nevertheless, this week’s episode of SmackDown Live is a must-see show as they hype the matches for the brand’s first solo pay-per-view since the brand split.

Semifinals of the SmackDown Tag Team Tournament

The semifinals of the SmackDown Tag Team Tournament continue this week. American Alpha will face The Usos while The Hype Bros have their hands full against the unlikely team of Heath Slater and Rhyno.

It has been rumored for weeks that American Alpha will become the blue brand’s first-ever tag team champs. However, Slater has been over the crowd as of late and having a partner like the Man-Beast makes them a dark horse in the tournament.

What’s next for Baron Corbin?

The Lone Wolf main evented last week’s show but where does he go from there? He does not have a match at Backlash but he still has some unfinished business with Kalisto. Expect a match between the two become official for Backlash.

The Miz-Daniel Bryan controversy

Fans were glued to their screens last week but SmackDown failed to follow up on the Daniel Bryan-Miz story that set the internet on fire. Bryan is not allowed to have physical contact and it seems like The Miz was just being booked to look stronger. Will the WWE follow up the Bryan-Miz controversy?
