Former WCW star Bill Goldberg had a short but memorable stint with the WWE from 2003 to 2004. According to the latest WWE rumors, Goldberg might be returning to wrestling for one last time after being announced as the first official superstar for WWE 2K17.
The former football player turned pro-wrestler is known for being one of WCW’s top stars that almost killed off the WWE. He had an undefeated streak for over a year that ended when he lost to Kevin Nash at Starrcade 1998.
When the WWE bought out the competition in 2001, Goldberg did not immediately sign with his former rivals, instead performing for All Japan Pro Wrestling. Nonetheless, he made his way to the WWE in 2003 and immediately began feuding with The Rock, Triple H, and Chris Jericho.
The 49-year-old wrestler’s last appearance was in 2004 in a colossally bad match with Brock Lesnar. However, it looks like the WWE has found a way to get back Goldberg in the company even in a small capacity.
The WWE teased someone will be unleashed from the hatch since last week. As recapped by WWE.com, it was revealed on Monday Night Raw that Goldberg will be part of WWE 2K17. You can watch the video below.

According to Forbes, the heavy campaign for Goldberg’s appearance for the video game franchise may be a sign that he will return to WWE. In 2014, the Ultimate Warriors came back while Sting eventually wrestled in 2015.
Both Warrior and Sting were announced as pre-order bonus content for WWE 2K14 and WWE 2K15, respectively. Even though Goldberg has a bad history with the WWE, he is very open to returning and this is a good sign.
WWE 2K17 is now available for pre-order on WWEShop.com and is set for release this coming October for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
