Extreme Rules 2016 Predictions, Schedule and Live Stream

WWE Extreme Rules 2016 is a stacked card, full of rematches from last month’s Payback event. Most of the matches have different stipulations as this is the night that the WWE goes extreme. Here is the complete prediction and preview of the event.

Roman Reigns vs. A.J. Styles in an Extreme Rules Match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship

As mentioned in a previous report, WWE chairman Vince McMahon has reportedly gone sour on the push of Roman Reigns. This may lead to a different finish that swerves the fans like the debut of Finn Balor, a heel turn of Reigns or a big win by Styles.

Nonetheless, this has been a very entertaining feud producing a great match at Payback. The WWE needs something big to happen at this pay-per-view to give the fans something to talk about heading to SummerSlam in three months.

Prediction: Roman Reigns retains the WWE title via pinfall.

Charlotte vs. Natalya in a Submission Match for the WWE Women’s Championship

The WWE made a big deal out of this match by making its contract signing the main event segment on the Extreme Rules go-home edition of Raw. Charlotte will be without his father but this is the time to prove to everyone that she can win on her own.

As mentioned in a previous report, Vince McMahon reportedly wants Charlotte to feud with Paige next as part of a real-life tension between the two. However, it’s all just part of the bigger picture that is Sasha Banks finally winning the women’s championship at SummerSlam.

Prediction: Charlotte retains the women’s title.

The Miz vs. Cesaro vs. Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn in a Fatal 4-Way Match for the Intercontinental Championship

The Miz got his swagger back with the return of his lovely wife Maryse. It could lead to him retaining the title before eventually dropping it to Cesaro. The feud between Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn will likely continue throughout the next couple of pay-per-views.

Prediction: The Miz retains the Intercontinental title via pinfall.

Dean Ambrose vs. Chris Jericho in an Asylum Match

The rivalry between Ambrose and Jericho has been entertaining even though the logic behind their feud is a little murky. Giving The Lunatic Fringe his own specialty match means that the WWE is showing more faith on Ambrose.

Jericho lost at Payback which could lead to the dreaded 50/50 booking. However, the best heel in the WWE at the moment hinted that he could be taking a break from wrestling again.

Prediction: Dean Ambrose wins via pinfall.

The Usos vs. Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows in a Tag Team Tornado Match

The WWE creative team has booked the team of Gallows & Anderson very poorly. This is the chance to change that by giving them a dominating win. Finn Balor needs to have credible members for his Bulletproof Balor Club.

Prediction: Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows win via pinfall.

The New Day vs. The Vaudevillains for the WWE Tag Team Championship

The world famous tag team champs have held the titles since SummerSlam last year. They are still one of the most entertaining acts on the main roster while The Vaudevillains are slowly making strides as a heel tag team.

However, The New Day should only lose the tag team belts to the team of Enzo Amore & Big Cass, possibly at SummerSlam in Brooklyn this August.

Prediction: The New Day retains the tag team titles via pinfall.

Kalisto vs. Rusev for the United States Championship

The WWE creative team has booked Kalisto poorly during his reign and as a result the value of the US title took a hit. Rusev, on the other hand, needs to establish himself as a monster heel following a disastrous love quadrangle last year as well as the poor League of Nations.

Prediction: Rusev wins the US title via submission.

Dolph Ziggler vs. Baron Corbin in a No Disqualification Match (Kickoff Show)

These two men get bumped to the Kickoff Show since Ryback has been sent home by the WWE. Both men have a win over the other with Ziggler winning at Payback while Corbin got a victory in an episode of Raw.

The Lone Wolf needs the win because he has the potential to be a top level heel in the company and Ziggler is just here to put over the rookie.

Prediction: Baron Corbin wins via pinfall.
