WWE superstar Brock Lesnar wants to share his UFC 200 victory at this year’s SummerSlam but this plan seems to take a halt as rumors are swirling that he might be able to compete after he was flagged by the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) in a potential violation that would screw his potential meeting with Randy Orton.
USADA on Friday informed the UFC that Lesnar could have violated an anti-doping policy after stemming from an out-of-competition sample collection taken last June 28. Even if USADA has assured to give due process to Lesnar about the incident, the WWE has yet to issue a statement as to how they will address the situation. This is the first time that both the WWE and UFC have been involved in this kind of controversy and decision that both companies will take it will surely affect their future dealings.
It was noted that after UFC 200, Lesnar is set to meet Randy Orton, who is making his comeback after undergoing a shoulder surgery, in this year’s SummerSlam that will take place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Now that the issue has been made public, the WWE will have to address it as they have their own wellness policies that they follow. It would be noted that some of their superstars such as Roman Reigns was suspended for 30-days for violating such policy.
WWE issued a statement through MMAFighting stating that Lesnar has not been on active duty with them since Wrestlemania and is not scheduled to return inside the ring until Aug. 21. And though Lesnar told ESPN that he will “get to the bottom of this,” it still unclear if the New York State Athletic Commission will clear him for SummerSlam as well.
But one man is seriously making steps for things to go hard on Lesnar and that Mark Hunt. Hunt earlier stated that he would ask the UFC for half of what is owed to Lesnar at UFC 200 due to failing the drug test. Now, Hunt is asking for Lesnar’s full fight purse and threatens to bolt out if it does not happen.
After knowing that Lesnar flanks his drug test, Hunt wants all of Lesnar’s $2.5 million winnings and stated that Lesnar disgusts the sport. Hunt labeled Lesnar as a “cheater,” and noted on his post on Twitter that for a “cheater like him, he hits like a p***y.”
Aside from Hunt, other UFC fighters ridiculed him for playing innocent on failing the USADA drug test. Fighters, who are also calling for UFC to implement stricter ruled and guidelines, noted that Lesnar should not play the “innocent” role. Fighters stated that what Lesnar is doing is something that WWE superstars are good at – ACTING.
