Triple H had a meeting with Total Nonstop Action (TNA) superstar Kurt Angle recently for a possible World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) return in near future. With WrestleMania 32 only a few weeks away, it won’t be surprising to see the Olympic gold medalist make his return to the company where he is seen as the “WWE guy” by its fans.
It is worth noting though that Kurt Angle has spent two years longer at TNA than he has at WWE. In his decade long stint in the Dixie Carter owned wrestling promotion; he was a 6-time TNA world heavyweight champion and was also inducted into their Hall of Fame in 2013.
Kurt Angle finished his contract with TNA earlier this year and has since been constantly tagged for return to the WWE. With his recent meet with Triple H, speculations have reignited regarding the Olympic gold medalists return back to the Vince McMahon owned company, as reported by Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Although no official news has surfaced regarding what the duo discussed during their short interaction, many within the wrestling community are suggesting Angle’s return considering WWE’s recent slump of actual superstars ahead of their biggest pay-per-view of the year. The likes of John Cena, Seth Rollins and Randy Orton are all nurturing injuries and won’t possibly be available to wrestle at WrestleMania 32. Hence, the creative within the company is trying all possible angles to make the event a huge hit.
Bringing back Kurt Angle would certainly boost WWE’s ratings and also reduce the recent heat Triple H and Vince McMahon are facing for the lack of creative direction within the company.
The fans will certainly hope that the “Olympic Hero” entrance music hits on one of the WWE arenas soon. However, with no real news on the air, the only viable option for everyone would be to wait.
