WWE Money in the Bank 2016 rumors and updated match card

WWE Money in the Bank 2016 is less than three weeks away but there are only two announced matches for the event. Here are the updated match card and some of the rumored matches that will be added in pay-per-view.

  • Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship

Rollins made his triumphant return from a knee injury by attacking Reigns at Extreme Rules. He hit The Pedigree on his former Shield brother and made it known that he is looking to get back the title he never lost.  

  • Dean Ambrose vs. Cesaro vs. Alberto Del Rio vs. Chris Jericho vs. Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn in a Money in the Bank Ladder Match

According to the Wrestling Observer (h/t What Culture), the WWE may have decided to not add a seventh participant in this year’s MITB Ladder Match. Although it was never mentioned in the latest episode of Monday Night Raw, many are speculating that the WWE is satisfied with the star power of the six men already involved in the match.

Rumored Matches for WWE Money in the Bank 2016

  • John Cena vs. A.J. Styles

Fans got the surprise of the year when Styles turned heel and attacked Cena during his return promo on Raw. He was joined by other members of The Club, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows during the physical beatdown.

It is expected that this dream matchup will finally happen at Money in the Bank and could probably lead to more matches in the future.

  • The New Day vs. The Club for the WWE Tag Team Championship

Anderson and Gallows also made their presence felt by attacking The New Day on Raw and having another confrontation on SmackDown. For the first time in many months, The New Day finally are in danger of losing the tag team titles with The Club gaining some momentum.

  • Rusev vs. Titus O’Neill for the United States Championship

Rusev got his mojo back when he won the US championship from Kalisto at Extreme Rules and retaining it in the rematch. He got a new feud on his hands with Titus O’Neill, who recently returned from his suspension.

  • Charlotte & Dana Brooke vs. Natalya & Becky Lynch

It looks like Charlotte will not be defending the women’s championship at the event. The WWE is building up a potential tag team match between Charlotte and here new partner, Dana Brooke, against the team of Natalya and Becky Lynch.

WWE Money in the Bank 2016 will be held on June 19, 2016 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
