WWE No Mercy 2016 Final Match Card and Predictions

Jack Swagger vs. Baron Corbin (Kickoff Match)

Even though Jack Swagger is a former World Champion, he has been irrelevant for the past couple of years due to bad booking. He is on SmackDown to put over Baron Corbin, who is currently the king of the WWE Pre-Show.

The Lone Wolf lost to The All-American American last week on SmackDown Live in controversial fashion leading to a match at WWE No Mercy 2016. Expect the WWE to use the 50/50 booking strategy for this match with Corbin emerging as the winner and still champion of the WWE Pre-Show.

Prediction: Baron Corbin wins via pinfall.

Curt Hawkins SmackDown Live Re-Debut Match

To be honest, Curt Hawkins’ new gimmick is just a ripoff of Chuck Norris facts. It is funny at times but it does not look good for his WWE re-debut. He will likely win his first match at WWE No Mercy 2016 since coming back but do not expect him to get a mega push.

Hawkins is just here to make other stars look good. Maybe a reunion with Zack Ryder can lead to something bigger for them.

Prediction: Curt Hawkins wins via pinfall.

Nikki Bella vs. Carmella

The WWE has booked Carmella as a good heel who attacks Nikki Bella every week. It would be nice to see Carmella get a win against a former Divas champion but the current story points to Nikki winning this match. Also, the WWE has been promoting Total Bellas a lot last week so she will likely get the victory.

Prediction: Nikki Bella wins via pinfall.

Randy Orton vs. Bray Wyatt

Will Bray Wyatt ever win something this year? The answer is no. Randy Orton is rumored to be the next challenger for A.J. Styles’ WWE World Championship so The Viper will be booked strongly against The Eater of Worlds.

The buildup for this match towards WWE No Mercy 2016 has been good but it’s a little bit cheesy. It would be great to finally see Sister Abigail but the WWE has to repair Wyatt’s image first. Stop booking him as a loser.

Prediction: Randy Orton wins via pinfall.

Heath Slater & Rhyno (C) vs. The Usos for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships

The team of Heath Slater and Rhyno is a great example of how to book a babyface story. However, it looks like they will drop the titles to The Usos. Since turning heel, Jimmy and Jey have been on fire and they are the favorites to win the championship.

It would be disheartening to see Slater and Rhyno to lose the title quickly but their team is built to go after the titles. Another possible outcome of this match is American Alpha attacking The Usos which will set up a Triple Threat Tag Team match in the next pay-per-view. But if not, The Usos will win.

Prediction: The Usos win via submission to win the SmackDown Tag Team Titles

Becky Lynch (C) vs. Alexa Bliss for the SmackDown Women’s Championship

There were several reports online saying that Becky Lynch suffered an undisclosed injury and her first title defense against Alexa Bliss will be canceled. The WWE has not confirmed it at the moment and the match looks like a go.

Becky will likely get the win and retain the title if the match goes on as planned. If not and Becky is injured, look for Alexa to write her out of television with some sort of backstage attack.

Prediction: Becky Lynch retains the SmackDown Women’s Title.

The Miz (C) vs. Dolph Ziggler for the Intercontinental Championship (If Ziggler loses, he retires)

The feud between The Miz and Dolph Ziggler has been very intense and entertaining. It is the eventual blowoff match with Ziggler retiring from the WWE if he loses this match at WWE No Mercy 2016.

The Miz has been the best pure heel in the WWE at the moment and it would be disappointing to see him lose the IC championship. However, the whole point of getting Ziggler to put his career on the line is to see him win the title.

Prediction: Dolph Ziggler wins via pinfall to win the Intercontinental Title.

A.J. Styles (C) vs. John Cena vs. Dean Ambrose in a Triple Threat Match for the WWE World Championship

The WWE has been teasing John Cena’s 16th WWE World Title reign since his return last month but don’t expect him to win it just yet. A.J. Styles has been on a tear and it would be a bad idea to take the title off of him less than a month after winning it.

Also, Cena is set to miss the rest of the year to film American Grit. On the other hand, Dean Ambrose is also rumored to be filming a movie for the rest of the year as well. Nevertheless, Styles coming out of WWE No Mercy 2016 still the WWE World Champion is a must.

If the rumors about Cena and Ambrose missing the rest of the year are true, expect them to get written off television this Tuesday on SmackDown Live. One possible scenario is Cena and Ambrose fighting each other for the No. 1 contender but a big brawl ends with two superstars crashing from the top of the stage.

Prediction: A.J. Styles retains the WWE World Title.
