WWE No Mercy rumors and updated match card after the Sept. 13 episode of SmackDown Live

Backlash only happened last Sunday but this week’s episode of SmackDown Live already set up the matches that might happen at No Mercy. Here are the latest rumors and updated match for WWE No Mercy, SmackDown’s second brand-exclusive event since the brand split.

A.J. Styles vs. Dean Ambrose vs. John Cena in a Triple Threat Match for the WWE World Championship

This week’s episode of SmackDown Live opened with a fiery promo from Dean Ambrose and a returning John Cena. Commissioner Shane McMahon announced that A.J. Styles will defend the WWE World Championship in a Triple Threat Match at WWE No Mercy.

It is not expected that Cena will win his 16th world championship just yet since he will be filming American Grit in October. However, the most intriguing part of this feud is the possible heel turn for Ambrose, who attacked Cena after their tag team win against Styles and The Miz.

On the other hand, there is only one official match for WWE No Mercy but here are possible matches that will get added to the card.

Becky Lynch vs. Alexa Bliss for the SmackDown Women’s Championship

Alexa Bliss defeated Nikki Bella, Carmella, Natalya and Naomi and a Five-Way Match to become the No. 1 contender for Becky Lynch’s women’s title. It is certainly a fresh matchup between two NXT stalwarts and expect it to happen at WWE No Mercy.

The Miz vs. Dolph Ziggler for the Intercontinental Championship

The feud between The Miz and Dolph Ziggler will move forward with general manager Daniel Bryan getting involved. Look for the GM to make another Intercontinental title match at WWE No Mercy between The Miz and Ziggler but with Maryse banned from ringside.

Heath Slater & Rhyno vs. The Usos for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships

One of the feel-good moments of the year was Heath Slater finally getting a contract from SmackDown. However, it looks like The Usos will get the title from Slater and Rhyno at WWE No Mercy so they can proceed to have a long feud against American Alpha.

Randy Orton vs. Bray Wyatt

With WWE No Mercy more than three weeks away, Randy Orton would be cleared to wrestle then. He was scheduled to face Bray Wyatt at Backlash but he was still suffering from a concussion.

Nikki Bella vs. Carmella

The rivalry between Nikki Bella and Carmella has been brewing since SummerSlam. Since they are no longer in the hunt for the SmackDown Women’s Championship, a one-on-one match between the two female superstars will likely happen.
