Bill Goldberg made his triumphant return to the WWE last Monday when he accepted the challenge of Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar. Goldberg made it clear that it will be his last wrestling match but the latest WWE rumors imply that he might be facing Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 33.
The return of the 49-year-old legend was 12 years in the making since he left the WWE on bad terms at WrestleMania XX. He also had some bad things to say about the company in recent years but all that was thrown at the window when he returned to Raw last Monday.
Goldberg is expected to face Lesnar at the Survivor Series in November and some reports suggest that he is only signed to wrestle one match. However, the reaction he gets at the event in Toronto can change all of that and he could be wrestling another match, per Cageside Seats.
The former WCW and WWE World champion was a big hit with fans worldwide and he helped increase the ratings. It also brought a lot of nostalgia even though the Goldberg’s age was visible in his movements as he enters the ring.
Nevertheless, Bill Goldberg is a superb athlete and he just needs several weeks to be in top shape to face The Beast. He is not expected to defeat Lesnar at Survivor Series but it might not be the last match of his career.
According to Aaron Sass of The Inquisitr, one of the planned matches for WrestleMania 33 next year in Orlando is Roman Reigns vs. Bill Goldberg. He noted that Reigns has no clear opponent at this point and if he gets another title shot, the fans could just boo him out of the building again.
The WWE has already teased a video of a Goldberg-Reigns match at WrestleMania 33 but all current plans could change. It should be noted that these are just purely speculative at this point and should be taken with a grain of salt.
