Many fans believe that Bobby Roode has already signed with the WWE and will start in NXT sometime later. However, the latest WWE rumors suggest that he has not signed with the company.
Roode spoke with The Peterborough Examiner last weekend and commented on his WWE status. The former TNA World Champion revealed that there is no deal yet between him and the WWE.
“I’m not officially signed yet. The Internet has blown up over it, and I mean I’m close, but I don’t want to spoil anything or ruin anything. I want to wait until its official. I don’t want to jinx anything either,” Roode said.
As mentioned in a previous report about WWE rumors, he was shown watching NXT TakeOver: Dallas last April 1 in the front row. WWE.com even acknowledged him via an article, a sign that he is already a member of the WWE.
There’s also a photo that circulates on social media showing Roode inside the NXT bus. He can be seen on the far left of Nia Jax’ photo with former UFC fighter and NXT striking coach Seth Petruzelli that was posted on Snapchat.
That photo fueled the WWE rumors that he’s really going to debut in NXT in the near future. However, there is also the fact that the NXT tapings April 6, 13 and 20 are already finished.
Bobby Roode could be introduced in NXT television during May tapings or sometime later since he has dates to finish in the independent circuit. It should be noted that he is scheduled to wrestle Eric Young in the main event of Tommy Dreamer’s House of Hardcore 14 on May 7 in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada.
Roode spent 12 years of his career at TNA Wrestling before becoming a free agent last month. He’s a former two-time TNA World champion, six-time TNA Tag Team champion and a one-time King of the Mountain champion.
