Brie Bella is calling it quits after Wrestlemania 32.
Prowrestling has revealed that the reason for Brie’s retirement is due to the health of his husband, Daniel Bryan. Although she has announced that she will be retiring this summer, the undisclosed health issue of Bryan has been the reason she needs to retire sooner than expected.
Although she will no longer be competing in the ring, the former Divas champion will still be a part of the company as an ambassador. She will still be a part of Total Divas and will make guesting on WWE Network programming.
Rumors of her impending retirement started to swirl around after husband Daniel Bryan announced that he was retiring from WWE last February. During that time, Brie was with her husband all the way hugging him right away.
The news did not come as a surprise to the WWE universe as many speculated that with the retirement of Daniel Bryan, she would follow suit. With concerns on her husband’s health, someone needs to be on his side which also prompted the retirement speculations.
Without Daniel Bryan, Brie Bella did not get as much popular with non Total Divas fans. That is why she took advantage of every opportunity that came her way including feuding with sister Nikki.
With her impending retirement, Brie will now be focusing on her family and health. She plans to have kids in the future and to do that, she needs to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
As for Wrestlemania 32, plans are in the works for Brie to have one last match during the Show of Shows. If not against Lana, it would be in a divas tag team match. Afterwards, she will make her retirement announcement at Monday Night Raw.
Brie Bella made her debut in the WWE in 2011 and briefly left the company in 2012. Together with sister Nikki, she came back to the WWE in 2013 and went on to become the longest reigning Divas champion. This time around, it looks like there will be no coming back for Brie.
