Brock Lesnar will be returning to the UFC on July 9 when he faces Mark Hunt at UFC 200 but he is also scheduled for WWE SummerSlam 2016. According to the latest WWE rumors, Lesnar will possibly face Kevin Owens this coming August 21 in Brooklyn, New York.
The Beast surprised a lot of people when the UFC announced that he will be fighting at the biggest MMA event history. The WWE allowed it to happen and they assured that Lesnar is booked for SummerSlam, but an opponent has yet to be announced.
According to Ring Talkk, the WWE is planning Brock Lesnar vs. Kevin Owens for SummerSlam. It is a dream match for many fans considering the physicality that both men have. The promo battle between Owens and Paul Heyman will also be epic, if this match really happens.
Of course, this is just a mere rumor but it is less likely that Lesnar loses at SummerSlam no matter what the result of his UFC comeback is. If he wins against Mark Hunt, it will be a bad move to have him lose. On the other hand, the WWE will need to do some damage control if Hunt destroys Lesnar at UFC 200.
Owens, if he faces Lesnar, will lose clean to Lesnar but it is not a bad thing. Look at Dean Ambrose, who lost to The Beast at WrestleMania 32. He is now the WWE champion. A second world championship is also in the works for the brand split, meaning Owens’ path to stardom gets easier.
According to FanSided, other possible opponents for Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam include Bray Wyatt, Sheamus, Cesaro and Randy Orton. Wyatt had a canceled feud with Lesnar while the three others are fresh matchups.
