Matt Hardy is known as Broken Matt Hardy in Impact Wrestling. He is a former wrestler in the WWE. But Hardy recently shattered rumors of him returning to his old wrestling show.
Broken Matt Hardy testified to Chris Jericho’s podcast, “Talk is Jericho,” that he is unlikely to return to WWE because his character might scare Vince McMahon. This is the episode 270 of the show that featured Hardy’s life as a wrestler at TNA Impact Wrestling.
McMahon is the chairman of the WWE, but Hardy disrespected the owner in the interview by calling him, “Mr. McMahon.” Broken Matt said that Vince would be “terrified” of his broken universe if he decided to bring it in the WWE.
“He would be afraid to let me go there. He wouldn’t let me shoot the fireworks on his show or he wouldn’t let me burn up my brother, Nero,” Hardy told Jericho.
Matt added that his broken universe concept is an idea that the world had never seen before.
The wrestler seemed contented of what he is currently doing in Impact Wrestling based on those statements. He also added that his character’s concept is what the wrestling show needs in order to be successful.
“But it is time to go to a different place, a different time, and that is what Impact Wrestling must do to succeed. That is the only way TNA can truly grow, is to find its own identity,” the wrestler said.
Matt had an early interview with Sports illustrated that talked about his possible WWE comeback, and the possibility of facing Brett Wyatt. It is just July when that interview happened.
For now, Hardy’s WWE comeback will really have to wait.
