WWE Rumors: Dean Ambrose losing WWE title at Battleground? Rollins vs. Reigns planned for SummerSlam

Dean Ambrose will be defending his WWE championship at Battleground in a Triple Threat Match against Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns. According to the latest WWE rumors, Ambrose may end up losing the WWE title to make way for the Rollins vs. Reigns match at SummerSlam.

Many fans were surprised that Reigns lost the WWE championship to Rollins at Money in the Bank, with Ambrose cashing in afterward. Two days later, the WWE announced the 30-day suspension of The Guy for violating the Wellness Policy.

It all became clearer why Reigns dropped the title, and Ambrose is the new WWE champion. However, The Lunatic may not be a champion for very long. According to Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer (h/t PW Mania), the WWE is still planning to have a Rollins vs. Reigns championship match at SummerSlam.

Of course, Meltzer is a reliable source but the WWE’s plans always changes by the minute. However, if those plans are indeed true, Ambrose will drop the title to Rollins in The Shield Triple Threat Match at Battleground.

Since it would not be a good idea to have Reigns champion again just after his suspension, it makes sense that The Architect will win the championship. There are other factors to consider in the WWE’s plan for Battleground, including the WWE Draft on July 19.

Nonetheless, some fans will be upset that Ambrose will lose the WWE title. They should not fear for his future since he is going to stay in the main event picture.

The Dude is one of the top babyfaces in the company and it would be foolish for the company not to give him a better run. The Inquisitr also noted that there would be another World championship which means Ambrose will have an easier path back atop the WWE.
