Dean Ambrose benefited the most in the whole Roman Reigns violation of the Wellness Policy situation as he came out of Money in the Bank the new WWE World Heavyweight champion. According to the latest WWE rumors, the seeds of a possible feud between Ambrose and Reigns have been planted.
The WWE has been pushing Reigns to the moon for the past couple of years but his suspension may have changed the company’s mind about him. He might not fall off the main event picture but other superstars will be given an opportunity.
In an interview with Michael Cole on WWE.com, Ambrose took a shot against both Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns, who he will both face in a Triple Threat Match at Battleground. He noted that it was sweet to cash in on Rollins but he admitted that it may have been sweeter if he cashed in on Reigns.
“That was just a little extra added bonus, right? Just a little too sweet, just a little too perfect. You know what I said: what goes around comes around. The thing is, though, and like I said, I told both guys right to their face, it could have been Roman Reigns. I would have cashed in on him too,” Ambrose said via Cageside Seats.
“Actually, thinking about it, as sweet as it was cashing it in on Seth Rollins it may have been a tad sweeter. But a different kind of sweet, like brown sugar and white sugar, you know, just a different kind of sweet to cash in on Roman Reigns.”
It will be interesting to see how the WWE handles the reign of Ambrose as the brand extension inches closer. He has not faced Reigns in a one-on-one feud and they are portrayed as best friends on WWE television. The WWE Draft will be on July 19 and the WWE champion should be the first overall pick and the headliner of Monday Night Raw.
Nonetheless, the fans will have to wait and see what the future of Ambrose, Reigns and Rollins will be. The WWE immediately pulled the trigger on The Shield Triple Threat but it’s the right time since it comes was announced before the brand extension.
