WWE Rumors: Finn Balor set to become the WWE Universal Champion, defeat Seth Rollins at SummerSlam

Finn Balor and Seth Rollins are set to battle at SummerSlam to determine the first ever WWE Universal Champion. According to the latest WWE rumors, the winner is already set as Vince McMahon is high on The Demon King gimmick.

Balor shocked the world when he defeated the mighty Roman Reigns cleanly on his very first night on Monday Night Raw. He earned the opportunity to face Rollins at SummerSlam for the WWE Universal Championship and he might be set to receive Reigns’ push going forward.

According to Eric Arrington of Daily Wrestling News, The Demon King character of Finn Balor is set to make its debut at SummerSlam. It is noted that the former NXT champion is also set to defeat Rollins and become the WWE Universal Champion.

The WWE chairman is rumored to be very high on The Demon King character and he really likes Balor’s entrance and look. Many top officials are against the idea of introducing it at SummerSlam but McMahon wanted it on the main roster.

There are a couple of critics already including Ric Flair on the push being given to the Irishman since he does not have the typical WWE superstar look. He is not big but The Demon King character has a lot of potential and could be the heir to The Undertaker character.

However, Seth Rollins is still the favorite among oddsmakers entering the last week before SummerSlam. 5 Dimes Sportsbook (h/t WWE Leaks) listed Rollins as a -195 favorite to defeat Balor, who is a +155 underdog.
