John Cena and A.J. Styles is set to clash for the second time at SummerSlam and it has possible WWE World Championship implications. According to the latest WWE rumors, the outcome of the match is still up in the air especially with Cena’s status as a performer at the moment.

Cena and Styles both missed the latest episode of SmackDown Live because they headed early to Australia for the WWE’s tour Down Under and in New Zealand. Their match was made official last week after an intense promo segment between the two.

According to Cageside Seats, A.J. Styles is set to challenge for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship if he goes over John Cena at SummerSlam. In their first match at Money in the Bank, The Phenomenal One was victorious following the interference of Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows.

On the other hand, the Cenation leader came back to pin Styles in their Six-Man Tag Match with Enzo Amore and Big Cass against The Club. It will lead to one possible final showdown to end the feud but the outcome of the match is still unknown.

The WWE has protected Cena, the company’s top babyface for more than a decade, but he is very outside wrestling. He just successfully hosted the 2016 ESPYS and Teen Choice Awards, and his “American Grit” television show on FOX was renewed for a second season.

The 39-year-old, 15-time WWE World champion missed a couple of months late last year to film the first season of his TV show. The WWE is already planning SmackDown’s future later this year as Cena will miss several months, per Daily Wrestling News.
