Kevin Owens vs. Roman Reigns at Roadblock: End of the Line

Reigns defeated Owens in a non-title match this past Monday night on Raw to earn a shot at the Universal title, as recapped by WWE.com. The Big Dog did some damage not only to Owens but to the friendship of the champ and Chris Jericho.

Without the help of Jericho in the main event, KO was not able to defeat Reigns. The two superstars have about two weeks to make the rivalry look important. However, expect Jericho and Seth Rollins to be involved in some sort of capacity.

Roman Reigns to win WWE Universal Championship?

According to Cageside Seats, there is some talk to put the Universal title on Roman Reigns to end the year. The report noted that some WWE officials want The Guy to become a double champion as he holds both the Universal and United States titles.

The basis for the plan is the reception Conor McGregor had at UFC 205 when he made history. McGregor became a two-division champion and the first to ever hold UFC belts simultaneously. However, the Irishman has been stripped of the featherweight title earlier this week.

Get ready for some backlash from fans

If the WWE is really thinking of giving Roman Reigns the Universal title, they should think about the consequences. Reigns is currently enjoying a good run in the upper midcards and it would be a bad decision to give him a big push at the moment.

Fans will surely boo Reigns more than ever and it might take the WWE back to square one. However, these are all just WWE rumors and should only be taken with a grain of salt.
