The WWE brand extension is less than a month away and many NXT stars are expected to be called up on draft night. According to the latest WWE rumors, the list of stars that will be on the main roster shortly has been revealed.
The WWE draft to kick off the brand extension will be held on July 19 when SmackDown goes live on the USA Network. According to 411 Mania, a minimum of five NXT stars will be called up but the number of talents going to the main roster will go up to as many as 10-12.
The five stars that will surely be called up are Finn Balor, Chad Gable and Jason Jordan, Austin Aries and Nia Jax, per Sportskeeda. Balor lost to Shinsuke Nakamura in a recent NXT television taping while Gable and Jordan failed to recapture the NXT tag team titles from The Revival in a 2-out-of-3 falls match.
On the other hand, Aries is in a middle of a feud with No Way Jose and Nia Jax lost to a returning Bayley. Many fans are excited to see Balor and Aries as they are two of the biggest names in the independent circuit for the last several years.
The Demon made his name in New Japan Pro Wrestling while The Greatest Man That Ever Lived won world titles in TNA Wrestling and Ring of Honor. As for American Alpha, they are ready for the main roster.
According to Daily DDT, Bayley and Carmella may also be called up due to the women’s division being split up as part of the brand extension. The Revival, Asuka, and Samoa Joe are still champions so they won’t likely get called up until this fall.
However, the brand extension and these call-ups will not be a considered a success if the WWE fails to produce quality stories that have been lacking in the past couple of years. The WWE creative team has to do a better job of making people look good and relevant in the eyes of the fans.
