WWE Rumors: Paige quits? Hires lawyers after Del Rio release

The WWE has officially announced the release of Alberto Del Rio, after weeks of speculation that the wrestler had already severed ties with the wrestling company. Now, all eyes have turned to his girlfriend, Saraya-Jade Bevis, aka Paige, who is reported to be following Del Rio’s move to leave the WWE.

According to sources, Paige has already hired legal representation to defend her should a court battle ensue. Technically, the diva still has three more years in her contract, so her lawyers need to come up with possible options to address her obligations to the WWE.

Paige is currently serving a 30-day suspension for violating the WWE’s wellness policy. The wrestling company had also warned the WWE diva about her relationship with Del Rio, threatening to fire her if she did not break up with the wrestler.

“Mark Carrano, who fans might know from Total Divas, kind of like the office liaison guy, approached Del Rio and Paige individually and harassed each of them about their relationship,” Mister Saint Laurent shared in his Podcast. “It was indicated that the office wanted them to sever their romantic relationship.”

Although, other sources note that the WWE has denied this story, claiming they never threatened to fire Paige or Del Rio.

Meanwhile, Paige was also spotted at the Alberto Del Rio press conference in Mexico City. The press conference was meant to officially announce the departure of Del Rio from the WWE, and his return as Alberto El Patron. Legally, the WWE has ownership of the Del Rio name.

Sources at the media event, claimed that Alberto made it clear that he “does not regret this run with WWE.” They also added that Rio feels the WWE “gave him everything, but he couldn’t keep up with the schedule.”

Neither page nor Alberto El Patron accepted media interviews.
