WWE Rumors: Paige VanZant to appear at SummerSlam as part of Brock Lesnar deal?

The WWE and UFC had an unlikely deal that allowed Brock Lesnar to fight Mark Hunt at UFC 200 and return just in time for SummerSlam in August. According to the latest WWE rumors, UFC women’s strawweight prospect Paige VanZant may be appearing at the biggest event of the summer as part of the Lesnar deal.

As mentioned in a previous report, many people are speculating that the UFC may now be open to allowing Ronda Rousey to wrestle at WrestleMania 33 next year since the WWE gave permission to let The Beast fight again inside the Octagon.

According to PWInsider (h/t Wrestle Zone), WWE chairman Vince McMahon has already talked with UFC president Dana White about “borrowing” a few MMA fighters to appear at SummerSlam. McMahon is reportedly interested in working with Paige VanZant, who recently finished second in the latest season of Dancing with the Stars.

VanZant has the mainstream appeal due to her looks and recent participation in a reality competition. She is what the WWE needs to bolster their SummerSlam card since Rousey is out recovering from a knee injury.

Their product could also take a hit if Lesnar gets knocked out by the hard-hitting Hunt in their UFC 200. It will kill all the hype surrounding The Beast since he ended The Undertaker’s WrestleMania winning streak in 2014.

The 22-year-old fighter will also make a crossover to Hollywood as she landed a minor role in the upcoming “Kickboxer: Retaliation” film starring Jean-Claude Van Damme and former WWE superstar Dave Bautista.

However, VanZant is eager to get back to fighting after a very long layoff following her DWTS appearance and loss to Rose Namajunas. She is slated to return inside the Octagon at the end of the summer but nothing has been made official.

“I took a long time off. I was out for a very long time before my first UFC fight and I just wanted to get back in there. I feel that same thing right now. I want to get back in the cage. I’m going to put 100 percent in my fight because I put 100 percent into every opportunity that comes my way,” VanZant told FOX Sports.

As for PVZ’s appearance at SummerSlam, it’s all just pure WWE rumors and speculations at this point.
