Randy Orton looks for redemption after confirming his upcoming scheduled live rematch against Brock Lesnar on Sept. 24 at the Allstate Arena in Chicago. Orton vows to revenge his loss at this year’s SummerSlam that had him busted wide open.
Orton confirmed the rematch through Twitter and stated that it will be a night to remember. The Viper vows retribution for the beating he sustained in their previous meeting. Medical staff had to administer 10 staples to close Orton’s wound from the beating that he took from Lesnar.
Lesnar’s manager Paul Heyman also confirmed the match as well. Their SummerSlam match was a one-sided event with Lesnar dominating, but Orton managed to sneak an RKO that stunned Lesnar on the announcer’s table. But it did not stop Lesnar from unloading elbow strikes that the referee had to stop the match. Lesnar named the winner and it clearly pisses Orton off.
Aside from Orton, WWE veteran Chris Jericho reportedly confronted Lesnar about the incident and had many things to say about it against The Beast. WWE RAW commissioner Stephanie McMahon fine Lesnar for the incident as well. Orton sees that it will not happen again as vengeance will be his this time.
WWE.com stated that the match will be live and there has no word yet if the match will also be aired via pay-per-view. The live rematch is not even in the WWE’s current schedule and is set the night before RAW’s Clash of Champions, which is a pay-per-view event.
The Orton-Lesnar main event will have other undercards that feature Roman Reigns vs. Rusev (Street Fight for the United States Championship); Sami Zayn and Neville vs. Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens; The New Day vs. Gallows and Anderson (WWE Tag Team Championship Match); and will also feature Cesaro, Sheamus, Sasha Banks, Charlotte, Enzo, Cass and much more.
