The WWE women’s division is making strides in the industry since the term “Diva” was dropped and they are getting a better position on the main card. The latest WWE rumors suggest that a women’s Money in the Bank Match for next month’s Money in the Bank pay-per-view is being discussed by company officials.
The WWE has let women main event a PPV last year when Bayley defeated Sasha Banks at NXT TakeOver: Respect in an Ironwoman Match. Now, many fans have been calling for the women’s division to have its own Money in the Bank briefcase since the new Women’s Championship was introduced at WrestleMania 32.
It will be an intriguing concept for the WWE since there are a lot of talented and underutilized women on the roster. The MITB briefcase has been used in the past as a stepping stone for superstardom of many WWE superstars like Edge, CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, Dolph Ziggler, The Miz and Seth Rollins.

On the latest episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer was asked during the mailbag segment if there is a chance to have women’s Money in the Bank Match at MITB on June 19 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
“I’ve heard talk. I don’t know that it’s going to happen. I hope if they do it, that they don’t do a ladder match. I just feel that people would get hurt. Maybe do an elimination match. But then if you don’t do the ladder match, then it makes it secondary, so you’re kind of screwed,” Meltzer said via Cageside Seats.
“But I think that there should be a women’s Money in the Bank match, for sure. But the ladder aspect, I’m just not comfortable with it, because I feel that people would get hurt,” he added.
Nonetheless, there is no confirmation if the WWE will be having a women’s version of the Money in the Bank briefcase. It’s certainly a fascinating concept and the WWE is taking steps towards the right direction in terms of utilizing their loaded women’s division.
