WWE SummerSlam 2016 is less than two weeks away and the event’s match card is close to being complete. Here are the latest rumors and updated match card of the biggest event of the summer following the August 9 episode of SmackDown Live.

Brock Lesnar vs. Randy Orton

The buildup for the “first ever” match between Lesnar and Orton has been surprisingly great. In this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw, a video package telling the history of the two superstars added to the drama of the match.

Finn Balor vs. Seth Rollins for the WWE Universal Championship

The WWE has not revealed the design for the Universal title but rumored photos of the championship recently leaked online, per WrestleZone. On the other hand, there is still no report on the plans for the Balor vs. Rollins match but fans are leaning towards The Demon to officially usher in the WWE’s “New Era.”

Dean Ambrose (C) vs. Dolph Ziggler for the WWE World Championship

During the conclusion of Dean Ambrose’s appearance in the Stone Cold podcast, Steve Austin challenged the champion to not become stagnant and have a sense of urgency despite being at the top. Ambrose is expected to retain the WWE championship but his recent comments about Lesnar can cause some heat and the company can easily give Ziggler the title.

John Cena vs. A.J. Styles

The build up for much-anticipated rematch between A.J. Styles and John Cena did not continue this week on SmackDown due to both superstars being absent. Styles has a very good chance to go over Cena at WWE SummerSlam since the 15-time champion is set to film the second season of his TV show American Grit, Cageside Seats reported.

Rusev (C) vs. Roman Reigns for the United States Championship

The demotion of Roman Reigns to the midcard became official this week when the US title match was announced for WWE SummerSlam. It is expected that Reigns will the championship as the company slowly repairs his image after his suspension.

The Miz (C) vs. Apollo Crews for the Intercontinental Championship

Apollo Crews earned the right to face The Miz for the Intercontinental title last week. However, his character still needs some work before going over the revitalized Miz character. The IC champ has been killing it this year with big thanks to his smoking-hot wife, Maryse.

Sasha Banks (C) vs. Charlotte for the WWE Women’s Championship

Sasha Banks defeated Dana Brooke this past week on Raw which means Charlotte will have no one in her corner. Expect these two women to steal the show just like what they did three weeks ago when Sasha became the WWE Women’s Champion.

The New Day (C) vs. Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson for the WWE Tag Team Championships

Big E is still out due to a groin injury as Gallows and Anderson slowly dominate the champions. It might be the right time for The New Day to drop the tag titles, and let Gallows and Anderson hold titles until Enzo & Big Cass are ready for the belt.

Enzo Amore & Big Cass vs. Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens

The tag team match was made official this week and expect this to open WWE SummerSlam. The Brooklyn crowd will be hot for Enzo & Big Cass battling Jericho and Owens, the best heels in the company, in an intense promo before the match.

WWE SummerSlam 2016 is going to be a four-hour show plus a one-hour preshow which means there would be at least two or three matches added on the card. Some of the rumored matches that the WWE may include are:

  • Becky Lynch vs. Eva Marie
  • Cesaro vs. Sheamus
  • Kalisto vs. Baron Corbin
