‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Update: Wolverine makes a return as ‘Four Horsemen’ revealed

As the “X-Men: Apocalypse” is sure to make waves next month, the fact that Wolverine will make his grand entrance tells of another continuing standalone movie in place as he helps Professor Xavier in their battle against Apocalypse and his “Four Horsemen.”

While the movie is up for its big screen debut come May 27, fans will be in for an early treat as the trailer of the movie gave so many hints of what to expect. There is the revelation of Apocalypse’s Four Horsemen namely Storm, Angels, Magneto and Psylocke, whose task to wreck havoc on earth as their masters aim to cleanse it and build a new world order.

Although paulswall of Move Pilot begs to disagree with the plot as sees that there are still other mutant candidates for the spot for the Four Horsemen.

“A split second screenshot in the trailer has caught actor, Tomas LeMarquis whom will play ‘Caliban’ while at the same time, providing some insight into who else will be joining Apocalypse on his quest for world domination. The inclusion of ‘Caliban’ is noteworthy in terms of his comic-book history. Caliban has been known to become one of Apocalypse’s Four Horsemen alongside a trio of completely, different Horsemen; not the current iteration of Magneto (Michael Fassbender), Storm (Alexandra Shipp), Psylocke (Olivia Munn), and Angel (Ben Hardy), which means that another iteration of Apocalypse’s Four Horsemen will be introduced in the film. Possibly played by Fraser Aitcheson, Rochelle Okoye, and Monique Ganderton; all with unconfirmed roles in ‘X-Men: Apocalypse (2016)’,” paulswall stated.

As speculations of another batch Four Horsemen will soon be revealed, the fact that Wolverine makes a short but grand entrance also tells of big things to come for future X-Men films. Director Bryan Singer told Gizmodo that there is more to that than just a cameo appearance in the film.

“Make of that what you want. I will say, it’s not simple. There’s something more pivotal that occurs with that. It hints to a sequence that again fits within the canon of all six movies, and the birth of a new direction. It’s not insignificant, nor is it simply just a throw-in,” Singer explained.

“X-Men: Apocalypse” is the ninth installment of the X-Men film series based on the characters in Marvel Comics. It is intended to be the sequel to 2014’s X-Men: Days of Future Past. Directed by Bryan Singer, with a screenplay by Simon Kinberg from a story conceived by Singer, Kinberg, Michael Dougherty and Dan Harris, the film features an ensemble cast starring James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Oscar Isaac, Nicholas Hoult, Rose Byrne, Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner, Olivia Munn and Lucas Till.
