2016 Rio Olympics Women’s Soccer: Brazil & USA still unbeaten

The Brazil and USA Women’s teams in the 2016 Rio Olympics Women’s soccer have dominated their opponents so far in the preliminary round. Both countries boast a similar record of 2 wins with no draws or losses.

They topped their respective groups in the first stage of the tournament.

Moreover, the Brazilians has already scored 8 goals in the group E. They only allowed one goal in the hands of the Sweden soccer team. But the country won that one with a score of 5-1. Beatriz and Marta both top-scored for Brazil with their own sets of a hat-trick. The goal from Sweden came from Lotta Schelin.

The tough Brazil squad earlier won their first match against China in day one. They took the game out of China with a score of 3 goals to nil.

The Brazilians also gained six points because of their two victories in their 2016 Rio Olympics Women’s soccer campaign.

Meanwhile, the USA team has yet to concede a goal in their first two matches. They recently won over a tough French team that allowed them to only score one goal. Their only goal came in the 63rd minute of the match. The point was scored by the ever reliable Carli Lloyd, who also serves as the Captain of the Americans.

Carli has now scored two goals for her team. The first one came when the United States defeated New Zealand in their first game. But the second one was scored by Alex Morgan.

Just like Brazil, the Americans also gained six points since they won both of their games in their 2016 Rio Olympics Women’s soccer group.

The next games of the two countries will both happen on August 10 CST. Brazil will next face South Africa while the United States will go up against Colombia.
