There is a high-profile boxing match to be held on March 3, 2018. The news of the fight between Kell Brook and Sergey Rabchenko has tremendously excited fans. Brook, who is a former world welterweight champion, is going to make his super-welterweight debut against the Belarusian boxer. The interesting fact regarding this fight is that it’s a must-win for either of them.
In September last year, Gennady Golovkin beat Brook whose right eye socket was broken during the fight. In May 2017, he lost his world title to Errol Spence Jr and broke the left eye socket during the fight.
The British boxer never came back to the arena after that. Now that he is making a comeback, he has decided to go super-welterweight this time. The Briton has played 38 matches so far, and won 36 of those.
Rabchenko has also lost only two matches in his career so far. But, he has played just 31 matches so far. According to Brook, the 31-year-old Belarusian boxer is a “dangerous” opponent to choose for his comeback fight. However, Brooke is anticipating an “electric fight” against the WBC’s seventh-ranked boxer to stamp his debut in the category.
The BBC reported that Brook’s focus was to become a “two-weight two-time world champion.” Rabchenko apparently has a similar kind of focus for the match. According to him, his fight against Kell Brook will be “a war.”
Rabchenko clarified why the fight is a must-win for each of them. The winner of the fight will be eligible for challenging the world title. And, that’s what makes the fight even more critical.
According to Metro, Kell Brook believes he is going to be better than ever in the fight against Rabchenko. He will somehow have one advantage. The fight is going to be held at Sheffield Arena. That happens to be in Kell Brook’s hometown.
