Andre Ward vs Kovalev is one, if not the most anticipated fights of the year, as boxing fans are drawn to the two prizefighters’ differences in style. Will Ward’s craftiness distract Sergey Kovalev’s flow, therefore rendering his power ineffective?

Prior to the announcement of Andre Ward vs Kovalev, the undefeated American attempted to negotiate a match between him and Gennady Golovkin. However, nothing much transpired from it that prompted him to move up to the light heavyweight division, as boxing news revealed.

Nevertheless, boxing news rattle possibilities that Gennady Golovkin next fight could still be possible after Andre Ward faces Sergey Kovalev.

“I think that fight has sailed, that fight is never going to happen,” Andre Ward said in a report by Sky Sports. “Once you go up in weight, I will never go down, you just don’t do it.

“He had his opportunity to fight me. An offer was made, his side has gone on to say a lot of things that were not true. I am not interested in refuting those things, he had his opportunity and did not want to fight, so I have moved on.”

The Gennady Golovkin next fight isn’t essentially out of the picture, for as long as GGG is willing to go up in weight.

Andre Ward (30-0) is dead set on beating Sergey Kovalev (30-0-1). He is widely regarded for his slick boxing skills, but not much on his knockout power. Will he be able to handle that raw force of Kovalev?

Andre Ward answers this with a question “How is he going to deal with me? We respect what he brings to the table, but he is going to have to be everything that he says that he is, because I am going to be ready and I am going to be prepared.”

Kovalev’s power is manifested clearly in his KO ratio. Boxing news document he’s knocked out 26 out of 30 opponents, and fans are intrigued if his power will perforate Ward’s defensive wizardry.

Ward is currently no.4 on the Ring’s P4P rankings. Will he hit the top spot with a victory in the Andre Ward vs Kovalev match up?

“In my opinion, the winner would have to be somewhere near the top. But there have been times in my career when I maybe thought I should have been at the top, but I don’t have a vote in the matter.”

He isn’t too shy also in aiming to be one of the best fighters of all time.

“This is why I do it for, and I do it for a lot of reasons, but one of the reasons is to be the best and to be the best in my era, and hopefully be one of the best of all time,” Andre Ward said in a report by the Review Journal.

Andre Ward vs Kovalev is set on Nov.19th at the T-Mobile Arena, Paradise, Nevada, US.
