Dana White tells Conor McGregor to defend 145-lbs. crown before the third match with Nate Diaz
UFC president Dana White may have seen enough of Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz after the match at UFC 202 as he seriously tells McGregor to defend his 145-lbs. division crown or face the consequence of getting stripped of the title.

Conor McGregor vs Nate Diaz 2 in UFC 202 turned out great with a Conor Mcgregor net worth increasing by £2.4million. It was a fight he barely escaped with a win, and deserves to bask in the limelight for. The best thing for him to do next is not to be pulled into a boxing match with Floyd Mayweather.

Conor McGregor may have hinted on the possibility of a fight with Floyd when according to a report by Bleacher Report McGregor said:

“The belt situation is lingering. I’ve got to talk…I’m speaking to the new people now [WME-IMG], so I don’t know. I’ve got to talk about what’s next. I’ve got a lot of options, and some might not be in this sport.”

Floyd Mayweather has been busy scouting for future champions to sign up with TMT including Shakur Stevenson. He’s been retired since last year after beating Andre Berto, and winning his biggest fight prior in the fight of the century: Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao.

He wouldn’t have to train much to box McGregor and would easily steal the thunder out of his latest victory against Nate Diaz.

It’s a match up McGregor doesn’t need, except perhaps financially. Floyd would just humiliate him to death in a boxing ring, and even boxing promoter Bob Arum called it ridiculous. Actor Sylvester Stallone joked Floyd would face murder charges if he fought Conor.

In fact, forget what Floyd would do to him. His father Floyd Mayweather Sr. who also trains pro boxers like Chris Eubank said he’d beat McGregor himself.

According to a report by Boxing Scene Floyd Mayweather Sr. said, “I’d whoop McGregor’s @ss, and I’d whoop the boy who whooped Conor’s ass (Nate Diaz)! If they do everything with their hands… with no kicking, and no elbowing… I would beat both they @sses.”

The fact that McGregor is entertaining the idea of a match against such a superior boxer as “Money May” gives an impression that he lacks understanding of the sweet science.

Tough isn’t enough in boxing.

Let alone Floyd, any boxer under TMT within his weight class would beat him easily under boxing rules.

Perhaps at this point it is best that Conor rides on his popularity in MMA and push for McGregor vs Diaz 3 or a McGregor vs Jose Aldo rematch instead.
