Boxing and MMA ought to be able to co-exist. The former is a highly specialized fistic sport, while practically any type of fight discipline goes for MMA. But Conor McGregor crossing over to fight Floyd Mayweather in a boxing ring makes this difficult.

Conor McGregor has become so big in the UFC that some fans believe he has the ability to step inside the squared circle and beat a boxing legend with a record of 49-0. Debates ensue.

Conor McGregor ‘s physical advantages mean nothing

“I would not go in there just to show up, I’d go in there t knock Floyd Mayweather out. That’s it. He can be hit; he’s been hit before. Age waits for no man also, so I know they know that. I know the size is on my side, I know the reach is on my side, I know the youth is on my side.” Conor McGregor said according to a report by Boxing Scene.

We all know a lot of seasoned and definitely way more skilled real boxers have said that before, and have all lost to Floyd Mayweather, also formerly known as “Pretty Boy” for famously winning his bouts practically unscathed.

What can Conor McGregor do that former Floyd Mayweather oppositions such as Manny Pacquiao, Oscar Dela Hoya, or Canelo Alvarez have not done?

Former world champion Paulie Malignaggi says he’ll save fans their time and money, and embarrass McGregor.

“At first I was telling Conor to stay in his lane and I was thinking you are going to embarrass yourself, but if you are really going to disrespect the sport of boxing like that then I would like to be the one to teach you that lesson.” Paulie Malignaggi said in a report by ESPN.

“I would never disrespect your sport and tell everybody I could beat the best fighter in the cage. You shouldn’t come to our sport and tell everybody you could beat the best fighter in our sport in a ring.”

No warrior has ever crossed over from another fight sport to directly dominate boxing spang in the eye. Not like Brock Lesnar did from WWE to MMA to win a title.

Feather-fisted Paulie Malignaggi would embarrass him, no doubt, in the ring. Forget what could happen in Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather.
