While everyone may have initially thought the cancellation of Tyson Fury vs Wladimir Klitschko rematch may plunge the heavyweight division back to the doldrums, the possibility of an Anthony Joshua next fight has brought out much excitement.
Tyson Fury has faced so much criticism, first for postponing the first fight schedule due to an injury he incurred during training, and now for failing a test on substance abuse.
He’s been reported to be battling depression, and has been acting strangely on social media. That leaves Wladimir Klitschko (64-4) with no opponent on the reserved date for December.
Anthony Joshua (17-0) is also scouring for an opponent for November 26th. According to a report by The Mirror Wladimir Klitschko is likely going to be the Anthony Joshua next fight instead, a match up that could end up more exciting than the Tyson Fury rematch.
Anthony Joshua is not only undefeated, but he sports a 100% knockout ratio. He is young, and strong, but does he have what it takes to overcome Wladimir’s experience? Some say it’s too early for that level of challenge.
“We’re in a great position right now. Maybe my smile gives things away but, fingers crossed, next week you’ll have some news that will blow your mind.”
“One thing’s for sure – in Anthony Joshua ’s mind, in Wladimir Klitschko ’s mind, I believe both of them are now in the gym every day thinking about that man as their next opponenent” Promoter Eddie Hearn said in a report by The Sun.
On that Anthony Joshua next fight, “If it’s Wlad, there’s a good chance it will be pushed into December.”
Eddie Hearn hopes Anthony Joshua gets better, as “every body does”, he said in a report by Boxing Scene.
“We hope he gets the right help and I want him to return to boxing, everybody does. I want Anthony Joshua to fight Tyson Fury.”
“When he’s ready, I’m sure the big fights will be there for him still.”
